75 Architects in San Miguel

More than 200 architects are available to help those that have decided to build their dream house rather than buy. Architects are licensed by Secretaria de Educación Publica (SEP) through the Dirección General de Profesiones. Sixty-six architects are members of the Colegio de Arquitectos de San Miguel Allende, A.C. (the local professional association of architects), the president of which is Arq. Olga A. Hernández Flores.

Many architects also act as builders, and there are dozens of local construction firms and many Maestros (building superintendents) willing to build from architectural plans. At any one time, the residential builders in SMA employ thousands of workers, one of the main sources of local employment. 

As in the case of any professional, you will want to note your specific requirements and obtain a written engagement letter that clearly sets forth the architect's assignment, fees and costs. Always ask for three references and check with them for their evaluation of the professional.
